About the Journal

Journal Problems of the theatre is a fundamental periodical publication, a leader in the field of Dramatic art, Theatre studies, Aesthetics, History, Sociology and Economics of theatre. It is devoted to the topical problems of the theatre and continues the tradition of the almanac, which was published in the State Institute for Art Studies from 1965 to 1993, and then in 2000-ies.

The contents of the journal’s issues demonstrate a keen interest in contemporary Russian and World Theatre and in the main tendencies of the theatrical process. Its publications reveal true professionalism and artistic quality, the lack of involvement and the breadth of the authors' views, objective approach to the subject of the analysis.

The State Institute for Art Studies publishes the journal with the financial support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.

The journal is published in four issues per year (two issues in one volume, 24 p. l. each).
